Phoenix police: Body of missing mother believed to be found; ex-boyfriend arrested

PHOENIX - Phoenix police say a body believed to be that of a young mother who went missing after her infant daughter was found abandoned has been discovered and the woman's ex-boyfriend has been arrested.

Police say a burned body discovered near 107th Avenue and Camelback Road is believed to be 21-year-old Jasmine Rain Dunbar, who hasn't been seen or heard from since about 9 p.m. Tuesday when she and her 7-month-old child were last seen at a residence in the area of North 51st Avenue and West Thomas Road.

Sgt. Jonathan Howard says the child was found after motorists called police to report seeing the child in a car seat along a street in the area of North 83rd Avenue and West Minnezona Avenue.

Police say Jasmine's family reported that she was last seen with her ex-boyfriend, Antwaun Ware, who was located and brought in for questioning by police.

Based on evidence gathered, Ware was arrested for one count of first-degree murder, kidnapping, abandonment of a body, and child abuse, according to police. He's been booked into Maricopa County Jail.

Official identification of the discovered body is pending for scientific analysis.
