PHOENIX (FOX 10) -- Police say a suspect is dead after being shot by officers at an east Phoenix Circle K on Wednesday night
According to a statement released by Sgt. Armando Carbajal, this incident happened at the Circle K near 35th Street and Oak.
Police say officers responded to the Circle K for reports of someone throwing an object through a window.
Officers found the suspect and when they were talking to him, he pulled something out and began attacking an officer.
One of the officers fired at the suspect, who was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead.
One of the officers was treated at a hospital for minor injuries and has been released.
This marks the 43rd officer-involved shooting in Phoenix in 2018, and this incident took place just a day after a deadly officer-involved shooting in Phoenix. In 2017, the city had 21 officer-involved shootings.
