PHOENIX (KSAZ) - A Phoenix police officer is in stable condition after crashing his motorcycle while riding along Interstate 17 early Monday morning.
The Arizona Department of Public Safety tells Fox 10 that the officer crashed his motorcycle while riding northbound on I-17 at Camelback. It's not known why the officer crashed his bike.
As a result of the crash, northbound I-17 was closed for several hours at Camelback Road.

Due to the crash, there were significant traffic delays on I-17 that extended into the morning commute.

After being closed for nearly six hours, the roadway was re-opened.

The officer remains in stable condition with non-life threatening injuries. DPS is still investigating the incident.
