PHOENIX (FOX 10) -- Phoenix Police are still looking for the person who killed a 43-year-old woman in west Phoenix.
The woman, identified as Sarah Hawkins, was shot after neighbors heard her arguing with someone. On Monday, Phoenix Police officials say there are no updates to the case at this time.
One day after the crime, it was eerily quiet outside Hawkins' townhouse.
"We heard some shots on Sunday," said one person. "We didn't know what happened until we saw police. The whole day the block was closed."
Police descended on the neighborhood looking for clues, putting up yellow crime scene tape as a helicopter circled overhead. S day has came and went, and still no arrest.
According to police officials, Hawkins and her killer were arguing with each other before the shooting, and they think the suspect and Hawkins knew each other.
People say it's tragic, and didn't have to happen.
"It's a shame and really said," said Jose Niebes, in Spanish. "Nobody needs to kill anybody."
The incident happened on the eve of Christmas.
"Poor family," said one woman. "We pray for the rest of the family because it will be so sad the rest of the year for them to lose somebody they love."
