Police: Mesa physical therapist accused of sexual abuse

MESA, Ariz. (AP) -- Authorities say a physical therapist in Mesa is in custody after being accused of sexually abusing two patients.

Mesa police announced Monday that detectives from their Special Victims Unit arrested 60-year-old David Fairbourn .

Police say they received reports last Tuesday from two women who alleged inappropriate touching during a physical therapy session performed by Fairbourn at his office near Baseline and Greenfield Roads.

Interviews were conducted and police say that lead to Fairbourn's arrest.

Police say Fairbourn is being held on suspicion of 10 counts of sexual abuse.

They say the investigation is ongoing and it's unknown if there are any other possible victims.

It was unclear Monday night if Fairbourn has a lawyer for his case.
