FLORENCE, Ariz. (AP) -- A Pinal County sheriff's deputy has been indicted on charges accusing him of having sexual contact with a 15-year-old boy a decade ago.

Sheriff Paul Babeu announced Friday he has begun termination proceedings for 47-year-old Scott Strobel in the wake of Strobel being indicted Wednesday on four counts of sexual conduct with a minor and one count of child luring.

Babeu's office said the sheriff' began a criminal investigation and placed Strobel on administrative reassignment last November after learning of the alleged 2005 sexual contact.

Circumstances of the alleged contact weren't released, and it could not be immediately determined whether Strobel has an attorney who might comment on the allegations against Strobel.
