Plan early to avoid traffic for dueling games in Glendale

- Coyotes fans and the Birdgang could cause gridlock on Glendale surface streets unless advance planning and a little patience come into play on Saturday.

The city of Glendale will host both the Arizona Cardinals and the Arizona Coyotes:  the Coyotes will play the New Jersey Devils at Noon at the Gila River Arena, and the Cardinals will play against the Green Bay Packers at the University of Phoenix Stadium at 6:15pm.

As a result of the hockey and football games, heavy traffic is expected in the area of Tanger outlets and the Westgate Entertainment District.

Changes have been made to the usual travel routes and parking lot.  Fans are advised to check the parking information on their passes for their respective games.

At the Coyotes game, there will be no pay parking at the University of Phoenix stadium.  Fans with purple passes will need to ues Maryland Avenue and will travel north to Coyotes Blvd. to reach the garage on the north side.  Fans who want to use Lot G will not have access from 91st Avenue, and will instead need to access the lot from Coyotes or Maryland using 93rd Avenue.

For the Cardinals game, parking lots do not open until 2pm.  Fans with blue passes will exit at Bethany Home Road from the Loop 101.  The blue lot has moved becaues of this game.
