Police: Man dead, wife critically injured in double-shooting in front of children

Police say a man was killed and his wife is critically injured following a double-shooting in Phoenix.

Phoenix police say the shooting happened a neighborhood near 55th Avenue and Clarendon when a 22-year-old man was shot and killed and his wife was transported to a nearby hospital in extremely critical condition.

The couple's two children were at the home at the time of the shooting, however, they were not injured.

Two "persons of interest" were taken into custody following a long standoff with police.

The identities of the victims have not been released and the investigation is ongoing.
