Police: 1 killed, 1 injured in head-on crash

PHOENIX (KSAZ) - Police say one person is dead and another is seriously injured following a head-on crash in Phoenix.

Phoenix police say the crash happened near 43rd Avenue and Thomas Road early Wednesday morning.

One driver was pronounced dead at the scene and the other driver was taken to a hospital in serious condition.

Police reopened 43rd Avenue in both directions, between Virginia and Thomas just before 6 a.m.
