Police: Man found dead in middle of street

PHOENIX (KSAZ) - Police are investigating a deadly hit-and-run after they say a body was found in the middle of the street.

According to Sgt. Alan Pfohl with Phoenix police, when officers arrived at the scene near 19th Avenue and Broadway early this morning, they found the body of a 56-year-old man lying in the street.

Police believe the victim was killed when he was hit by a silver car while trying to cross the road.
