PHOENIX - A man was killed after he was shot near a light rail platform in Phoenix. That happened Friday morning at 19th Avenue and Glendale.
Police say the suspect was inside his vehicle when two men jaywalked in front of the car. They exchanged words and the men continued onto the light rail platform.
At some point, one of the men walked over to the car's driver side window and shot the victim. Authorities say that person stayed at the scene and was later taken into custody.
The light rail station at the intersection was closed and Valley Metro says buses are being used to ferry passengers between the platforms at Northern and Montebello avenues. They're about 2.5 miles apart along Glendale Avenue.
No names have been released in this case.
