Police investigating deadly hit-and-run

PHOENIX (KSAZ) - A woman was killed and police are looking for the driver of a vehicle involved in a hit-and-run.

Phoenix police say the woman's body was discovered in the road near 59th Avenue and Broadway Road at 3 a.m. on Friday.

The woman was pronounced dead when first responders arrived at the scene.

Investigators believe the woman was struck by a vehicle and the driver did not stop to offer assistance to the victim.

Due to their investigation, northbound Broadway Road is closed between 55th and 59th Avenues.
