- PHOENIX (AP) -- Police in Phoenix have arrested one suspect in a fatal stabbing and are searching for another man in the case.

They say 55-year-old Von Richard Mraz was arrested Monday afternoon and is being held on suspicion of second-degree murder.

Police say a 25- to 35-year-old man was stabbed and killed during a fight between several transients shortly around 4 a.m. Monday near 7th Avenue and Camelback Road. The two transients were sleeping near a building when a third walked up and allegedly tried to steal some of their personal property.

The two men woke up and chased the suspect through a parking lot.  All three men fought and the suspect was stabbed several times.  The injured man was pronounced dead at a hospital.

Police say his name is being withheld until his relatives can be notified.
