PHOENIX (KSAZ) - Phoenix Police detectives are investigating a fatal shooting that took place Monday afternoon.
According to Sgt. Vince Lewis, officers responded to a home near the 2300 block of E. Quail Avenue at around 4:20 p.m., for what was originally reported as a home invasion. When officers arrived, they found a 45-year-old man, critically wounded.
Police said the man was pronounced dead, when Fire officials arrived. A resident inside the home, according to the statement, told officers she was in the home, heard a shot, and came outside to find the victim. She called 911, and attempted CPS until police arrived. The resident, according to Sgt. Lewis, has been taken in for further questioning.
An investigation is ongoing.
