Police: Man dies after found shot in driveway

Police say a man has died after he was found shot in his driveway in Phoenix.

Phoenix police say officers found the man suffering from gunshot injuries in his driveway near Thunderbird Road and Tatum Boulevard late Sunday night.

Police say the man was taken to a nearby hospital where he later died. Witnesses told police that the man opened his garage door to investigate a noise outside his home when he became involved in an altercation with unknown suspects.

Phoenix police say the investigation is ongoing. Meanwhile, the victim has been identified as Allen Saka, whose family is now searching for answers.

"They run away from there looking for peace. They arrive here, 5 years later, he got killed." said Shams Enkawy, via translator Revon Issa. Saka, 34, was Enkawy's husband. Enkawy said she and Saka heard a noise outside, so Saka opened the garage door to check it out.

"When he went outside, the guy was standing here, and shoot him right away," said Enkawy, via Issa.

The family believes someone was trying to break into Saka's truck, before Saka was shot dead. Police have dusted the truck for fingerprints.

Anyone with information should call police.
