Police: Pedestrian hit by train in Phoenix

PHOENIX (KSAZ) - Police say a pedestrian is seriously injured after being hit by a train in Phoenix.

Phoenix police say the collision happened at around 8:30 a.m. near 19th Avenue and Van Buren when the pedestrian was crossing the train tracks.

The train is blocking Van Buren in both directions and there is no estimated time on when the road will reopen.
