Police seek man accused of grabbing 13-year-old girl at Valley resort

- Police are looking for a man who's accused of inappropriately touching a 13-year-old girl at a Phoenix resort.

According to Sgt. Jaime Rothschild with Silent Witness, the suspect grabbed the girl's buttocks in the lobby of the Arizona Grand Hotel on May 20.

The suspect is described as a white male who was wearing glasses, a maroon T-shirt, and dark cargo shorts. Police say the man's behavior is not just rude and uncalled for, but also criminal.

"This adult touched someone else's child, and he did not have the right to do that, and that is what has raised the seriousness of this crime," said Sgt. Jamie Rothschild with Phoenix Police. "We don't have any indications he has done this before or since, but we need to find him."

Meanwhile, Arizona Grand officials have released a statement on the incident.

"On May 20, 2018, the Arizona Grand security team was made aware of the individual, who was neither a guest nor an employee of the resort.  Our security team immediately reviewed video surveillance and notified the Phoenix Police Department who responded to investigate. Approximately one week later, one of our security officers recognized the individual again on our property. The individual was detained and the police responded to continue their investigation. As always, Arizona Grand Resort & Spa takes the security of its guests and employees very seriously and we continue work closely with the Phoenix Police Department to ensure our property remains safe and secure for all visitors."
