Police: Suspected drunk driver hits, kills bicyclist before being rammed by officer

GLENDALE, Ariz. (KSAZ) - Police say a suspected drunk driver hit and killed a bicyclist before being rammed by a Glendale police officer.

Glendale police say the series of incidents began just after midnight when police were alerted to a suspected drunk driver who swiped a black SUV and hit a bicyclist.

The bicyclist died due to the collision and an officer finally spotted the suspect's vehicle, and rammed the back of the car to stop him near 59th Avenue and Glendale.

The officer had a civilian in the car with him and both were transported to a nearby hospital with minor injuries.

The alleged drunk driver was also transported with minor injuries.
