Pop singer Charlie Puth visits medical center

- He's the pop star behind the hit single "See You Again" from the movie "Furious Seven," and Charlie Puth made a stop in the valley Monday.

Before playing at Live Wire in Old Town Scottsdale he stopped by Cardon Children's Medical Center in Mesa.

The patients at the hospital were excited to meet Puth in person. He spent a lot time signing autographs, taking pictures, and sharing laughs with the kids, and they enjoyed every minute of it.

"You always hear songs on the radio and so to actually see him in person and get to meet him it was incredible," said a patient.

"That's pretty awesome," said another patient.

The kids are not just fans. Some of them are also part of the hospital's music therapy program.

"It really helped me through a lot of tough times that I've been through with being in the hospital, and this is actually where I learned to start playing guitar, so even after I'm out of the hospital it's continued through," said a student.

Puth says when he heard about the program and heard kids singing his songs, it inspired him to write more music.

It makes me wanna make another kind of anthem song like that for them to sing, it's just inspiring for me, and I guess I inspire them too, so it is kind of a back and forth energy kind of thing," said Charlie Puth.

It was a day the kids and the pop star will not forget.
