Popular Portland-based burger joint Killer Burger opens first Valley location

A popular Portland, Ore.-based burger joint has opened their first location in the Valley, offering a unique selection of burgers.

When people think of Portland, the slogan "Keep Portland Weird" may come to mind. The slogan is meant to embrace the uniqueness of the city, and that's a motto Killer Burger takes pride in.

"We're all about being different but delicious," said general manager Skye Hothan.

Killer Burger, which is one of the most popular burger joints in the Portland metro area, is now introducing their unique selection of burgers to the Valley, their first location outside the Pacific Northwest.

"We really knew that people love food down here, so we wanted to make a mark down here," said Hothan.

All burgers are made from scratch, and vegan patties are also available. Hothan says Killer Burger offers something tasty for everyone.

"Our goal at Killer Burger is when people think of a great burger, they think of Killer Burger," said Hothan.

A customer favorite, next to the classic burger, is what's called the "Peanut Butter Pickle Bacon Burger". Sounds rather unusual, but the combination just works.

"Grilled onions, burger, peanut butter sauce, pickles bacon, and mayo," said Hothan.

"I was a little concerned about how the peanut butter would interact with the whole burger, but it's not overpowering, it's absolutely amazing," said one customer.

"All the flavors of that burger just melt together in a perfect symphony of flavors," said Hothan.

For Portland native Kaleah Walterman, it's simply a little taste of home.

"I haven't had Killer Burger in over four months, and so I made, like, a half hour drive just to have a killer burger today. So good," said Walterman.

The burger restaurant will be selling their Peanut Butter Pickle Bacon Burger for just $3, but only for this weekend.
