Classes to resume at Tempe HS following power outage

Classes are set to resume at Tempe High School, following a power outage that canceled classes Tuesday.

According to a statement that was posted onto Tempe Union High School District's website Tuesday afternoon, APS officials told the school district that the outage was caused by equipment failure across the street from Tempe High.

Power was restored to the school Tuesday afternoon, and games scheduled for after-school hours on Tuesday took place as usual.

School district officials said they believe the power outage has damaged some electrical motors in the school's air conditioning system, but the AC is still expected to be operational.
