Pregnant woman among those hospitalized following serious crash

A busy intersection was shut down Tuesday night following a two-car crash that injured four people, including two children and a pregnant woman.

SkyFOX was over the scene at 24th Street and Baseline where the collision happened just after 7:00 p.m. According to Phoenix Police Sgt. Vince Lewis, the crash was likely the result of a moving traffic violation.

One of the vehicles caught fire. Phoenix Fire Department officials say all of the occupants of the vehicle that was on fire were able to safely escape the without further injuries.

The accident resulted in four patients being transported to nearby trauma facilities. Two adult females and two pediatric patients were all transported in stable conditions.

"Neither speed nor impairment appear to be factors at this time; however, the investigation is ongoing," stated Lewis.

The intersection will be closed throughout the night during the investigation.
