PSCO: Apache Junction homeowner fatally shoots intruder, officials looking for accomplice

APACHE JUNCTION (KSAZ) - Pinal County officials say a homeowner shot and killed an armed intruder Saturday afternoon in Apache Junction.

Two armed suspects broke into a home near the 1400 block of east 29th Avenue, according to the Pinal County Sheriff's Office.

After getting into a struggle with one of the suspects, the homeowner fatally shot the intruder. The second suspect is still at large and officials say he may have escaped in a dark colored vehicle.

The owner received some injuries from the fight, but authorities say the other people present in the home during the fight were unharmed.
