Some chilly weather is in store for the valley with low temperatures dipping into the 40's for the next few nights. In Northern Arizona temperatures will be much colder, in fact, there's plenty of snow on the slopes in the high country.

The overnight low in the valley is hovering around 42 degrees, but if that is too much to handle there are other areas of the country that will be slightly warmer tonight.

How about Seattle? Their overnight forecast is rain with a low of 45. In Chicago, the low dips to 43 degrees, or you could be in Philadelphia where there is a slight chance of rain and a low of 54 degrees.

But for folks here in the valley who have to be outside they'll be doing everything they can to stay warm.

At the Snedigar Recreation Center in Chandler, it was a chilly night for soccer practice. Kids and their parents were bundled up from the blast of cold weather that hit most of Arizona.

"I think Arizona goes from really hot to freezing, and there's no in-between," said Jennifer Newell.

For families, it was a reminder of how fast Arizona weather can change, a big kick-off to our cold weather season here.

Earlier Tuesday the brisk air meant brisk business at Paul Bunyan Firewood in Guadalupe.

"You know it's finally the first time we can be outside and not be sweating all over ourselves," said Geoffrey Baldwin.

People were stocking up for a long-awaited night by the fire.

"You know the summer is over with, might as well take advantage of the cold weather, it's something different you know," said Jose Coronado.
