Retired marine gets gift of a new car on Giving Tuesday

PHOENIX (KSAZ) -- The Tuesday after Thanksgiving is "Giving Tuesday", where people around the country give to good causes. In Arizona, some are giving thanks to those who gave their all for America.

The spirit of charity was alive and well at a North Phoenix dealership, where a military family received a car, and a military man essentially given a thanks for his service.

"Wow, I can't believe you guys are going to actually give me a vehicle," said Master Sergeant Christian Abreu, who retired from the Marines earlier in the year. He was awarded two Purple Hearts during his 20 years of service, but now he's in a new spot in life: uncertain.

"It felt great, defintely felt great. I just have to get used to being up high," said Abreu.

Abreu fights chronic back pain, and the new ride should help him be more comfortable, so that he can enjoy quality time with his energetic young daughter.
