San Tan man accused of shooting fireworks at cars

Deputies say they are searching for a man suspected of shooting fireworks at vehicles, including a deputy's patrol truck, southeast of Phoenix.

The Casa Grande Dispatch reported Saturday that the Pinal County Sheriff's Office was seeking the public's help in finding the suspect.

Officials say they believe he's in his 20s, and that he was last seen riding a motorized bicycle in San Tan Valley, a city at the southeast edge of the Phoenix metro area.

According to sheriff's officials, the man fired off a firework at a sheriff's patrol truck Thursday night as a deputy was responding reports of fireworks being shot at vehicles.

The deputy reported hearing an explosion and seeing a bright flash at the truck's passenger-side window. He wasn't injured and the vehicle was not damaged.
