Scottsdale Police identify victims in murder-suicide

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. (KSAZ) - Police have identified the victims in a murder-suicide in Scottsdale that happened last week.

Police say 75-year-old John Denton shot and killed his wife, 74-year-old Mona Denton. John Denton allegedly shot his wife, went to a neighbor's house and told them that his wife needed medical attention.

Denton then went back inside his home, locked the door and shot himself.

On Friday afternoon, police responded to reports of the shooting near Scottsdale Road and Valley View.

Scottsdale police made entry into the home and found Denton and his wife dead.

Authorities have learned the couple was having marital problems.
