Search for deadly shooting suspect

Phoenix Police are searching for the person, in connection with a shooting in a South Phoenix neighborhood that left one person dead, and sent another to the hospital.

Police reportedly received several calls from residents in the neighborhood at 6:25 a.m., saying they heard multiple gun shots going off. When police arrived, they reportedly found two men shot.

"I heard the shots in my dream," said German Gutierrez. "And I heard more and I woke up running. I ran to my dad."

Police said the man they found lying in the street was alert and speaking to officers, but not cooperating. The other man who was found, according to police, was a 31-year-old man. That man was taken to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

"We're finding evidence strewn about the neighborhood," said Lieutenant Paul Taylor with Phoenix Police. "So at this point, I have my K-9 teams and several officers fanning out through the neighborhood, in an attempt to figure out what may have occurred and where it occurred."
