October storm brings wind, hail, and rain to AZ

The National Weather Service issued a severe thunderstorm warning for central Maricopa County on Thursday afternoon.

Per NWS, doppler radar indicated a severe storm capable of producing quarter size hail and damaging winds in excess of 60 miles per hour.

The storm moved northeast from Goodyear at 30 miles per hour.

Residents in Apache Junction and in the West Valley reported hail and heavy rains.

"Heavy rains flood roads quickly, so do not drive into area where water covers the road," stated NWS officials.
