Sheriffs: 1 dead in plane crash in southern Arizona

Authorities say one person is dead after a plane crashed in southern Arizona.

The Cochise County Sheriff's Office says the single-engine airplane crashed north of Interstate 10 near milepost 355 on Thursday at 9:23 a.m.

Deputies say the lone occupant in the airplane was found dead.

First responders are searching the nearby area for any potential survivors, however, it does not appear any other people were inside the airplane.
