Silent Witness: Mobil Robbery in east Phoenix

Police are searching for a man who is accused of holding a clerk at gunpoint while robbing a Mobil gas station in east Phoenix.
According to Sgt. James Rothschild with Silent Witness, the suspect robbed the shop on the evening of Sunday, June 19 at 6:45pm.  The crime happened at the Mobil gas station at 30th Street and Washington.
Police say the suspect showed the clerk a black semiautomatic handgun and forced the clerk behind the counter.  The suspect made the clerk open the register, and held the gun on him until he fled the store.
The suspect took off on foot.  He's described by police as a white, Hispanic or Middle Eastern man with a short beard, measuring about five feet ten to eleven inches tall, and weighing about 215 pounds.
