Sixth victim in Maryvale shootings has died

PHOENIX (KSAZ) - A sixth victim in a recent string of deadly shootings in Maryvale has died.

Thirty-three-year-old Stefanie Ellis had been in critical condition for the past few weeks but passed away from her injuries Thursday.

She was one of three people shot while sitting in a car near 63rd Avenue and Berkeley Road in June. Her 12-year-old daughter and another woman were also killed. Police believe the shooting is related to three other shootings in Maryvale.

All those killed were shot in an area between 55th and 67th Avenue, and Campbell Avenue and McDowell. Five of the people were shot in a 10-day period between June 3 to June 12.
