Small plane crashes, rolls onto Prescott street

- Police say no one was seriously injured when a small airplane rolled after crashing onto a street in Prescott on Tuesday night.

"Responding personnel located a small Malibu Piper single nose-prop aircraft, which had in fact landed, in the middle of Iron Springs Road," stated Prescott's Deputy Chief of Police Amy Bonney.

Authorities say three people were onboard the plane when it landed. The pilot and passengers were transported to a hospital, but their injuries are not considered life-threatening.

Police say the plane ran out of fuel as it was flying in from the Los Angeles area, forcing the aircraft to go down, and as the plane was landing, a car stopped on the road was rear-ended by another vehicle.

No one was hurt in that car crash.

Iron Springs Road was closed overnight due to the investigation.

The Prescott Airport operations team and the FAA are also investigating.
