Some residents living without hot water or gas

PHOENIX (KSAZ) - People living in the Villa Del Centro apartments near 16th Avenue and Glendale will have to change their holiday plans since there is no gas in the complex.

The gas has been off for several weeks in order for Southwest Gas to make sure there are no leaks. Work on the gas lines has left partially exposed holes around the complex, which residents say is a hazard for children playing outside.

Meanwhile, residents are still using portable burners to cook meals.

The HOA doesn't know how much longer the gas will be shut off.
