Southern closed at 59th Ave. for South Mountain Freeway interchange construction

PHOENIX - A major intersection is shutting down as work on the new South Mountain Freeway continues and it will have an impact on a lot of drivers' morning commutes for many months to come.

Per the Arizona Department of Transportation, Southern Avenue will be closed at 59th Avenue through March so crews can build the southern half of one of the 22-mile freeway's 13 interchanges.
