Police respond to officer-involved shooting, bomb scare in Goodyear

GOODYEAR, Ariz. (KSAZ) - A suspect has been hospitalized following an officer-involved shooting and bomb scare in Goodyear.

Goodyear police tell Fox 10 that the suspect was shot by police after he fired at an officer near Pebble Creek Parkway and McDowell.

The suspect also claimed to have a bomb inside a backpack he was carrying.

The suspect was transported to a hospital where his condition is unknown.

No officers were injured in the shooting.

The bomb squad is responding to the scene and Pebble Creek Parkway will be closed between Coronado and McDowell for several hours.
