Suspect in custody after leading deputies on high-speed chase

A suspect is in custody after leading sheriff's deputies on a high-speed chase.

The Pinal County Sheriff's Office tells Fox 10 that the suspect tried to run over a sheriff's deputy before leading them on a high-speed chase on Tuesday morning.

The pursuit ended just southeast of the Mesa Gateway Airport after the suspect fled on foot and was quickly taken into custody.

Per the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office, the suspect has been identified as Christian Cook. Cook was previously arrested back in September for copycat crimes related to the freeway shootings case.
