Suspect in custody after officer-involved shooting

A suspect is in custody after an officer-involved shooting in Phoenix on Sunday morning.

The shooting happened near 64th Avenue and McDowell Road. .

Sgt. Vince Lewis of Phoenix Police Department says a suspect and an officer exchanged gunfire at 64th Avenue and McDowell Road. He says officers were busy investigating a call for shots fired when someone opened fire at the officers. At least one officer returned fire, Lewis says.

The suspect is now in custody and there were no injuries to any of the officers or the suspect.
