Suspect leads DPS on high-speed chase, crashes near Gila Bend

Authorities have taken a suspect into custody after being led on a high-speed chase that ended near Gila Bend on Wednesday morning.

The Arizona Department of Public Safety tells Fox 10 that troopers were in pursuit of a vehicle that was traveling at 122 mph on southbound State Route 85. Troopers threw spike strips onto the road in an effort to stop the vehicle during the chase.

The pursuit ended just before 7 a.m. when the vehicle crashed and the driver was taken into custody.
