Suspected Ottawa University trespasser arrested; 2 guns found in car
SURPRISE, Ariz. (AP) - A Sun City man has been arrested after two guns were found in his car after he allegedly trespassed on Ottawa University's campus in Surprise.
Students and staff were evacuated from the school Tuesday morning after police were called about a man behaving suspiciously on campus.
Police say 31-year-old Steven Ziya was detained without incident when two handguns were located in his vehicle following a security sweep.
They say Ziya was booked into jail on suspicion of trespassing, disruption of educational institution and forgery for possessing an altered driver's license.
Ottawa University's campus reopened around 11 a.m.
Police say they're still investigating why Ziya was on the campus.
It was unclear Tuesday night if Ziya has an attorney yet for his case.
