Taking a look at what to do this weekend around the Valley

PHOENIX (KSAZ) -- Here's a look at what's happening this weekend around the Valley.

Music
If you love music, then you have a lot of choices. The Eagles take the stage at Talking Stick Resort Arena Saturday night, and the band will be playing all their legendary hits. Just last month, the group's greatest hits album passed the 38 million mark in sales - making it the best selling album in history.

Meanwhile, Def Leppard and Journey will also be in town this weekend. They'll be taking the stage at Talking Stick Resort Arena on Friday night at 7:00 p.m., marking a reunion tour of sorts for two bands that teamed up for a tour, 12 years ago.

The shows feature complete sets, and all-new production from both bands.

Movie with Sweets
The Alamo Drafthouse is hosting the "Ultimate Willy Wonka Party" at their theater in Chandler on Friday, and at their theater in Tempe on Saturday. Guests will be treated to a screening of the movie, complete with a bag of candy. In addition, the actors that played Mike Teevee and Veruca Salt will be in attendance, and will take part in an extended Q&A after the film and meet with fans afterwards.

In addition, everybody who attends the party will automatically receive an autographed poster, free of charge.

Sports
The Arizona Diamondbacks have a weekend series at Chase Field against the Atlanta Braves. The D-Backs are in the final month of the season, and need a strong push to make it into the playoffs.

Meanwhile, the Arizona Cardinals kick off their 2018 regular season, as they face the Washington Redskins on Sunday at 1:00 p.m. at State Farm Stadium (formerly named University of Phoenix Stadium).
