Teen arrested for bringing loaded gun to Sierra Linda High School

PHOENIX (KSAZ) - Phoenix police say a 16-year-old student was arrested for brining a loaded gun to Sierra Linda High Shool.

Sgt. Alan Pfohl with Phoenix police says the teen was arrested by a school resource officer for having the loaded gun in his possession. Police say campus security received a tip that the teen had a loaded gun.

During questioning, police say the student told them he had the weapon for personal security and had no issues with anyone at the school.

The student was detained at the Juvenile Correction Center.
