Teen suicide forum in Mesa aims to take action and save lives

Heartbreaking messages from mothers who have lost children to suicide were heard Wednesday.

Suicide is not an easy subject to talk about, but the goal for an event held in Mesa is to take action, and save lives.

According to figures, more than 40 Arizona kids committed suicide in 2017, and teen suicides in Arizona are up by 80%. Statistics from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) shows suicide as the second leading cause of death for people ages 10-24 in Arizona, for the second year in a row.

FOX 10's Courtney Griffin reports.
