PHOENIX (KSAZ) - Phoenix Fire crews helped a 14-year-old girl who was suffering knee pain while hiking at Echo Canyon.
Crews responded to the area at about 8:30 a.m., after receiving a report that the 14-year-old girl was suffering a knee injury and was having trouble getting back down the mountain.
According to a spokesperson for Phoenix Fire, crews set up a steep angle rescue for the teenager. The girl was loaded in what crews call the "big wheel" and was taken down the mountain.
The girl is in stable condition and was taken to a nearby hospital to be evaluated for her knee injury.
