The Zone, a place to unplug from the world

Imagine a place where you can escape the distractions of the world, and let your mind and body truly relax.

That is the goal of "The Zone" a new business run by Christine Arians, the wife of Cardinal's Coach Bruce Arians. It's like an escape pod filled with lights and sounds that work on a subconscious level.

"By this wonderful acoustic wood that causes a resonance in the box, from the vibrations of the sound, and the lights," said Christine Arians.

Christine has used this type of machine for years before she moved to the valley. She and therapist Barbara Saint John have now opened "The Zone" in the valley.

"The zone can benefit almost everyone because we live in an overstimulated world, and we are constantly on the phones and Facebook," said Barbara Saint John.

Even Coach Arians uses the machine to relax.

"I honest to God wanted to do this for my husband; our goal is he gets in every week. I wanted one of these devices so badly for him, so he can get to the end of every season healthy," said Christine.

Once you're resting in the pod the lights come on, you listen to messages both conscious and subconscious that help you heal.

"In that state of deep relaxation the subconscious can break-thru and you can have breakthrus in any of the things that are stopping you," said Christine.

From stopping bed-wetting, to overcoming grief, there are 30 different programs to choose from.

"It's wonderful, and it takes you to a place you can't go by yourself, so you're retraining your brain to relax, so you can actually take the relaxation out into the world with you," said Barbara.

All the proceeds go to the Arians Family Foundation to provide court advocates for victimized children.

Three sessions at the zone cost $299, and each session lasts an hour.
