Thousands of Goodyear residents without power

GOODYEAR, Ariz. (KSAZ) - Power has been restored since 10 P.M. Saturday night for the thousands of Goodyear residents affected by a large power outage.

Friday night's monsoon left nearly 3,000 Goodyear residents without power after lightning hit an APS transformer in Estrella Mountain Ranch.

The power outage is expected to last until midnight Saturday night, according to APS.

APS officials say customers affected will be reimbursed for up to 40 pounds of wet ice and 20 pounds of dry ice.

Goodyear Fire says Estrella Foothills High School is open as a cooling center for those without power.
