Trump to visit Luke Air Force Base, attend Mesa rally in latest trip to Phoenix

PHOENIX (KSAZ) -- President Donald Trump arrived in the Valley late Thursday night, with packed agenda for Friday. For the President, this is his first trip back to Phoenix since a rally in August 2017 that was marked with violence outside the Phoenix Convention Center.

Air Force One landed at Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport after 9:00 p.m. Thursday, and the President's motorcade later arrived at a hotel in Phoenix.

On Friday, the President is set to visit Luke Air Force Base, before attending a rally in Mesa.

At Luke, Trump will tour part of the base and then take part in a round table discussion.

During a debate earlier this week, Senate candidate Martha McSally said she would be at the base with the President. She is a former Air Force combat pilot.

Thousands of supporters are expected to attend the event at Phoenix Gateway Airport. Mesa Police suggest if you are not attending the rally to avoid the area around the airport because traffic will be heavy.

Trump will spend the night in Scottsdale before heading to Nevada on Saturday morning for another rally.
