Two-legged dog gets set of wheels

Joey is a 1 1/2-year-old Chihuahua mix, he's a unique dog and doesn't have two front legs. He was born that way, but now he has two wheels and two legs.

It's been a tough life for Joey; he had a pair of disfigured limbs instead of two front legs, and it's unknown if he's ever had a home. He was a stray and was turned into Halo Animal Rescue.

"He doesn't let it get him down at all, he's very sweet, he just tries to be a normal dog, he doesn't know anything is different with him," said Laura Jensen.

Joey was getting callouses and sores on his feet and chest while trying to get around; that's why one company donated a custom wheelchair for the pup.

Since he isn't used to the chair, he will spend about 15-60 minutes daily in his new chair.

"At first, he was a little bit confused, it's taking a lot of time for him to build up his muscles so he can use the wheelchair for a long time," said Laura Jensen.

Learning to maneuver with two wheels is no easy feat. Joey has taken a few tumbles but always gets back up.
