Man arrested in deadly Holbrook court shooting

Authorities have arrested a man in connection to a deadly courthouse shooting in northern Arizona.

The Navajo County Sheriff's Office says the shooting happened after 47-year-old Salomon Diaz became upset at the results of a custody hearing involving children that he had been watching.

Diaz allegedly went outside, grabbed a gun, and opened fire, killing the children's mother, 25-year-old Ashley Utley, and maternal grandmother, 45-year-old Sherry Quintero-Davenport.

The children's aunt, 68-year-old Angela Chambers, was injured during the shooting and transported to a nearby hospital.

Diaz was the children's paternal grandfather and had been taking care of them for an extended period of time.

Employees and citizens inside the building were locked down as authorities responded to the courthouse.

Diaz has been charged with two counts of second-degree murder and one count of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
