United Food Bank holds raffle for brand new Harley Davidson cycle

This is the time of year when the need is high, but unfortunately donations are low at the United Food Bank, so the non-profit is getting a little creative in its fundraising efforts.
To some the sound of a Harley Davidson motorcycle is music to their ears.
Riding away on a 2015 Road Glide Special, worth $23,000 for just $40, might get everyone's attention.
"We've created the "Give where you live" Harley Davidson Raffle, just for the purpose of purchasing food to fill the gaps.
The Director of the United Food Bank in Mesa, Ginny Hildebrand, says this is the time of year when the need is greatest.
"Year round we're probably serving 217,000 people in our service area, from here in Mesa, all the way to the New Mexico border, that service area touches a lot of deep pockets of poverty.
"We have a party on the patio tomorrow from 12-3, Chuck E. Baby and the All-Stars, we have food, free food, plenty of drinks, a good old time," said Roger Potocco.
One raffle ticket costs $40, you can buy 3 for $100, the goal is to sell 5,000 total. That means participants have  1 in 100 chance of winning, and the shelves at the United Food Bank can be stocked.
"Even as generous as our communities are that we serve, we need to have extra money to purchase food to fill those nutritional gaps," said Hildebrand.
$1 provides 5 pounds of food which is enough for four meals, if all the tickets sell that will be half a million meals on the streets of the east valley and eastern Arizona.
If you're interested you can buy tickets on the Patio Party Saturday, or at the Food Bank through the day of the drawing which is September 12, 2015.
